Minhaz.

Also known as Minhazur Rahman

Software engineer by discipline.
Data engineer by trade.

Engineering Values

I believe in "boring" data systems that support interesting products. Reliability over hype.

End-to-end system ownership, from APIs and microservices down to data pipelines and warehouses. I bring software engineering discipline to both: tested, modular, built to survive the next product pivot.

Eight years in, my focus has shifted from making things work to making them scale without waking people up.

Platform Thinking

BERLIN · 2020 — 2025

trivago was my introduction to the German tech industry. Scoutbee is where I made it mine. Four years building a data platform end to end, from first pipeline to graph database to APIs. You learn a lot when you build something from nothing and stick around long enough to live with your own decisions. Earlybird VC was the opposite problem: a 2M-line monorepo that had outgrown its own architecture.

The thread

Built it from scratch, grew with it, then learned to reshape what others had built.

Moving Fast

DHAKA · 2018 — 2020

Logistics tech in a city of 20 million. Where I learned the difference between writing software and owning it. Went from contributing code to thinking about systems instead of features.

Concurrency under pressure. When the system fails, someone doesn't get their food.

First Principles

DHAKA · 2015 — 2018

Fintech, digital solutions, full-stack everything. The years where you learn by building the wrong thing three times until you understand why the right thing works.

Where

The thread

Learning how software actually works, not frameworks, but fundamentals.
